Spring is in the air!

It was a beautiful day and our ladies enjoyed an informative and instructive Long Ball Clinic.  The Colonial Country Club hosted our ladies and the pros, Rick Gibney and Todd Mowery were wonderful.  Several of the ladies enjoyed a follow-up 9-hole round.

Leagues are where we meet and play!

Our evening leagues include beginner, intermediate and advanced to be inclusive to all members.  We believe we can improve integrating new members into our organization with volunteers in our leagues to meet, play and assist the new member with her assimilation into our evening league.  The ladies 18 holes will remain for intermediate/advanced players.  Secondly, substitutes will have the option to be universal with all evening leagues, if they elect to play other courses.   The benefit would be two fold, the extension of friendship & play, and filling  “cancellation” openings of evening leagues.  New to our leagues..... check them out here.  Check out our league policies here.  Our leagues start the week of April 13th and end the week of September 28th.  Sign up online here.

I hope everyone celebrated a Happy Mothers Day with family and friends!

As summer is approaching, the greens are getting brighter than ever, and calling your name, so is our Central Pa EWGA Chapter!

The most recent chapter event held at Bedford Springs was a tremendous success!  Bedford Springs Old Course has undergone a total renovation restoring it to its original course layout  A round of golf on these historically significant tees overlooking breathtaking views of the Allegheny Mountains and Cumberland Valley was enjoyed by our EWGA Chapter and friends.  The 20 plus attendees enjoyed the bentgrass tees, plush greens and well-manicured fairways!  The lessons were well appreciated by the Ladies!  And congratulations to Chris Maffey for winning the Night putting contest!  Well done Chris!  And a most gracious appreciation extended to Christine Corrigan for Chairing the 2nd Annual Bedford Springs Getaway!  It was enjoyed by everyone!

The Short Game Clinic is this Saturday, May 16th and the Sunday Travel League is Sunday, May 17th at Fox Chase Country Club.  And the Commonwealth Cup is May 30-31 at Chestnut Ridge Golf Club, Blairsville, Pa.  The Commonwealth Cup is an EWGA yearly event that is welcoming all levels of play with established handicaps.  Please visit our events page for further information and to sign up!

The Chapter Championship Districts is up & coming soon!  August 8th, Dauphin Highland Golf Course.  If you can provide your services for this special event, we need to hear from you!  Within the next two weeks, I will provide a link to all the specialty services required.  This is an amazing  opportunity for every member to experience the thrill and the education of a EWGA tournament, and most importantly, to support our organization with you enthusiasm and attendance.  Please offer your time for this exceptional event!

The Board has appreciated all your positive responses to the 2015 Leagues!  The Universal Sub advantage is being utilized by many members!  On behalf of the Board, we are happy to learn of its continued success!

And one final note, our Chapter extends our sincere wishes to Angie Deitrick with the loss of her Mother, Sandy Walker in April.  As Sandy Walker has been a member of our Chapter and we miss her presence.  Our condolences to Angie and her family.

I wish everyone a great season of friendship and great golfing!

Hit them Long, Straight and with a smile,
