About Us

Central PA EWGA History & Mission Statement, est. September 2002

The Central Pennsylvania area is a wonderful place to call home for many reasons but, for most of us, it was lacking a community for upward mobile women to come together and network. We decided to create a solution to this drawback by introducing a Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA).

On September 28, 2002, we had our first informational meeting at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, our Host Club, with EWGA's past President, Carla Washinski. We voted to form a Chapter here in Central Pennsylvania and 11 ladies signed up to become the founding members. We elected the current officers and had volunteers for a few of our chair positions. Now the work begins . . . leagues, clinics, and outings needed to be formed; we needed to plan for a spring Tee Off Event; and most importantly, we needed to pull together our grassroots efforts and recruit members. We started our first year with four leagues which were filled in no time. We now have 9 leagues for the 2011 Golf Season and a membership consisting of 164 ladies.

We have fun with social activities while not golfing in the winter months; bowling parties; snow tubing; happy hours; dance lessons, etc.

Finding a passion in life is a good thing. Finding an association that adds new dimension to your passion is a great thing. EWGA is that kind of Association.
