Big Break: The Mid-Iron Crisis

Friday May 11, 2012 (registration deadline May 4)

Join us for a 9-hole challenge and just bring your 5, 6, and 7 irons along with your putter (and of course, some golf balls).  Instruction begins at 5:30pm and tee off on the Vintage at 7pm to put our lessons to the test.  There will be a box dinner provided just prior to the shot gun start on the Vintage.

EWGA Women in Golf Open

Sunday, May 20, 2012 (registration deadline May 12)
Cassell Hills - 1p shotgun start - $65

This is our 4th annual “Women in” Series event. Previous themes have been Women in Golf, Movies, and Song. This year the theme is Women in Golf II. The format will be better ball of partners, hosted at Cassel Hills Golf Club in Vandalia. This is our opportunity to share the EWGA Dayton fun with our golfing friends from work or other leagues. It is open to all women golfers, so spread the word and invite them to join us. They can be your partner or may enter a team of their own choosing. You will enter as a two person team and may form your own foursomes or allow the event coordinators to match up partners. Sign-in begins a noon with a shotgun start at 1pm. Dinner will be immediately following play.

EWGA Nine, Wine and Dine

Friday, June 15, 2012 (registration deadline June 7)

Details 5:30p shotgun start - $35

Join your friends for a relaxing Friday evening of golf, wine (or soft drinks) and food. Our 3rd annual Nine, Wine & Dine event will be held at Pipestone Golf Club which will provide a wine tasting social for our members after golf. There will be a variety of small plate appetizers served. The golf is just for fun, although side bets will be allowed and encouraged.

EWGA Chapter Championship

Yankee Trace Golf Club - tee times begin at 10a $75 plus $35 National EWGA fee

EWGA members of all skill levels have the opportunity to compete against other members who share the same playing ability. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or new to the game, the EWGA Championship provides a venue to experience competitive golf among friends and in the spirit of fun. We have a unique opportunity this year because our Chapter Championship (June 24 with a rain date of July 15) is at Yankee Trace Golf Club and, conveniently, the semi-finals will be held at our own Heatherwoode Golf Club (August 4.) There are two options for competing; stroke play or scramble team.

Players must have an established handicap index either through EWGA's handicap system or a GHIN handicap. Players with a carry-over handicap index from prior years must post at least two (2) 18-hole rounds of golf in 2012; and those who are establishing a handicap index for the first time must post at least five (5) 18-hole rounds in 2012. These rounds must be played and posted prior to June 12.

$75 CHAPTER TOURNAMENT FEE.

The $35 fee covers EWGA's costs associated with running a national, multi-level championship event and is imposed by EWGA Headquarters.

The $75 fee covers green fees, cart, morning snacks, goodie bags, dinner at the Yankee Trace Clubhouse after golf, and prizes.

Stars, Stripes and Strokes

Sycamore Creek Country Club - Dinner 4:30p Golf 5:30p - $50

Get Ready for a Patriotic Par-Tee at Sycamore Creek Country Club! This nine hole event with meal will be just “fore” the red, white, and blue. Wear your stars, stripes or best patriotic patterns, as we "stroke" our way around this premier, private course. The fun will also include patriotic trivia, prizes by flights, door prizes, 50/50 drawing, goody bags and more! Dinner will be served from 4:30-5:30 followed by a 6 pm shotgun start for 9 holes of golf. The evening will be capped off with desert and prizes.

EWGA Junior Girls Outing at Kittyhawk

Kitty Hawk Golf Course 3p tee times

Our 3rd annual Junior Girls Outing will return to Kitty Hawk Golf Club. Dayton Chapter members will partner with the Greater Dayton Youth Golf Academy (GDYGA) girls and enjoy 9 holes of golf followed by lunch. The Hawk and the Kitty courses will be used. Girls age 11 and under and partners will play the Kitty. Girls age 12 and over and partners will play the Hawk. The event is just for fun and is not handicapped. Sign-in is at 2:30pm and tee times begin at 3pm. GDYGA sponsors the greens’ fees and EWGA Dayton sponsors the lunch for the girls. EWGA members pay for their own golf and lunch.

Girl's Golf Get-a-Way

Griffin Gate Resort & Spa, Lexington KY - Deposit of $50

Need some “ME” time? Sign up for our annual weekend away event. Hop in your car for a short two hour drive to the Marriott’s Griffin Gate Resort and Spa in Lexington, KY. Theme or No Theme, that is the Question! You will have to sign up to see what we have in store for you this year. Regardless of the “theme”, you can look forward to two rounds of golf, a nice dinner Saturday night, plenty of bets, and some quality time with your EWGA friends. Mark your calendars and join us!

EWGA Semi-Finals

Dayton Chapter members will have home course advantage! Get your game on to qualify for the Semi-Finals. Those advancing from the Chapter Championship will enjoy a fun day of golf competing against other Ohio Valley District chapters from Ohio, Indiana & Pennsylvania. Volunteers will also be needed to support this competition. Details of volunteer roles are on the web site. One way or another, you can be part of this event.

I-70 Orange Barrel Challenge

Reid Memorial Park - North Course - 1p shotgun start - $50

This annual match-play challenge event pits the Dayton Chapter against the Columbus Chapter in spirited team competition. Wear your orange and support your chapter in this handicapped, fun event. Bring back the coveted Orange Barrel Trophy to Dayton!

Rally for the Cure

Join the Rally! Our fight against breast cancer continues with our annual Rally for the Cure fundraiser to be held at Heatherwoode Golf Club. Get your pink ensemble ready. Plan your cart decorations and join us for a fun-filled afternoon. The Dayton Chapter has averaged over $10,000 per year in donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Be a small part of making a big difference in the fight against breast cancer. This 4-person scramble event is for women only and is open to the public. Gather your friends, family, and co-workers and make a day of it.;
