VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH We are happy to 
acknowledge Deb Sisson as this month's Volunteer of the Month. Deb joined our chapter in December 2005, and has been a very active volunteer ever since. From 11/06 - 08 she served as our Education Chair and ran the S.W.I.N.G. program (Skillful Women Inspiring New Golfers) during the winter months on Sundays. She also promoted our use of the Premier Card and arranged weekend play. From 11/08 - 10 she served as our Communications Chair, sending out our weekly e-blasts. During 2011 Deb helped to design our new website and is currently our webmaster. Whenever we need a hand, we can count on Deb. Make sure to personally thank her next weekend at Bonaventure. A second practice round is scheduled for this Sunday May 13 with tee times starting at 11:03 AM.

BROWARD LEAGUE
With two matches under our belts, the EWGA/Parkland Broward League team is currently in 3rd place in the standings (of 6 teams). Here are the standings as of today:
1st Pompano Beach (85 points)
2nd Grande Colony (Grande Oaks/Colony West) (70.5 points)
3rd EWGA/Parkland (68.5 points)
4th JacMar (Jacaranda/Lago Mar) (63 points)
5th/6th Weston Hills and Coral Springs (only one match played each)
Our next match is scheduled for this Thursday, 5/10/2012, at Parkland against the Grande Colony team. With a win, we can move into 2nd place. Wish us luck!
HANDICAP
Daylight savings time is here and that means some of you are managing to play in any of our many 9-hole leagues during the week. Those 9-hole scores are just as important as 18-hole scores for handicap purposes, so remember to post those scores. If you play at least 7 holes up to 12 holes, you are required under USGA handicap rules to post your score as a 9-hole score. Just remember when you enter the score to change the "Holes" to 9 instead of 18. Once you select Front 9 or Back 9, the computer will automatically change the ratings. With the Chapter Championship only a few weeks away, your handicap must be as accurate as possible, so please remember to post! If you have questions about your handicap or about how to post your scores, contact any of the Handicap Committee or visit the Handicap page of the Chapter website at www.ewgafortlauderdale.com.

Do you have a handicap index of 25.0 or better and want to play in the Gulfstream District Women's Golf Association this summer? Please read this important information. The Gulfstream summer league is an individual league playing various courses throughout Broward County, typically on Thursday mornings. Click here for this summer's Gulfstream schedule. FAIRWAY FRIENDS™ EWGA
Fairway Friends ™ is a mentoring program available to all EWGA members . In Fairway Friends™, experienced golfers (Mentors*) partner with new golfers (Mentees) to help them feel comfortable on the golf course. Fairway Friends™ is what the EWGA is all about -helping women enter the game of golf in a fun, supportive environment!
- Are you new to golf and looking for someone to help you on the course?
- Are you an experienced golfer (not necessarily a good golfer) willing to guide a new golfer on the course with basic rules and etiquette?
