Now is the time to join us for a fun competitive league event during our regular play dates throughout the year.
League Entry Fee: $20
Format: During each long course event during the season, league
participants will keep a separate score card and compete in the
designated virtual league game. Game scores will be maintained for all
players and the individuals with the best NET score for all five games
combined will be the league winners.
Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lowest cumulative net score in 2 flights.
Rules:
-- To be eligible for prizes, you must play a total of any 5 games
during the season
-- You must
turn in a signed and dated score card with the name of the game on it to
the Event Captain
-- You must have a handicap
-- Earn points for playing in one short course event during the year

Players Tour is a competitive summer long mini-tour that is played on some of the same weekend play dates. Since Players Tour is flighted based on handicap, players of all abilities will be in flights that match their handicap so it is a level playing field for all. Don't let the idea of 'competitive' scare you away. You will receive points for each weekend players tour date that you participate in based on your 18 hole score. At the end, I will total everyone's points a determine the winner for each flight. This year we will also play one or two play dates using Match Play format for a change of pace. Details will be forthcoming...
Recreational players will be able to tee off right after the Players Tour players.

Get Golf Ready is an industry-wide adult player development program that has two main goals:
- To bring new golfers into the game in a fast, fun and gratifying way;
- To bring former golfers back into the game
The objective is to deliver a consistent Get Golf Ready experience at a reasonable and attractive price for adult consumers from coast-to-coast, where they will learn the game through a series of group lessons and transition to ongoing playing opportunities. By participating in this program, students will be well on their way to becoming bona fide golfers with an appreciation for the history, rules and etiquette of the game.

EWGA is structured for all level of golfers. All levels have the
opportunity to compete against similar skill levels. So get a handicap
and see where you can go.
The Tournament Tour is a program that we offer to provide competitive
golfers of all levels with 18-hole stroke play golf outings at courses
around the Washington metro area. Players compete within flights based
on their handicaps. The Tour events are designed to educate EWGA members
on how to play in USGA golf tournaments.
Players of all skill levels are welcome. You need an established 18-hole
handicap of less than 40. As part of your EWGA membership, you have
access to the Golf Life Management website which has information.

League Cancellation Policy (NEW)
The golf courses have changed their cancellation policies, forcing us to revise ours with respect to credits, subs, and cancellations:
- Credit for green fees (minus a $5 handling fee) will ONLY be issued if the participant notifies the league organizer 12 days
PRIOR to the play date
- Cancellations after the 12th day WILL NOT be issued a credit as the chapter is responsible for the fee.
Use of Substitutes
- It is the responsibility of league participants to obtain a sub when they are not able to participate in the league. A list of subs will be provided.
- When a sub is obtained, the league participant is responsible for obtaining reimbursement from the sub · If unable to obtain a sub the cancellation policy applies.

This is a new event this year for the DC Chapter. If you like
playing match play then this is the series for you. Everything will be
contingent on how many players join and where they live. You must have a
handicap in order to participate.
Format: 9 hole individual match play event
Duration: May thru September 2012, Beginning May 9, 2012
Commitment: 5 matches plus 2 to 3 potential playoff matches
Must: Sign up before April 30th
Scoring: 1 point will be awarded for a win, ½ a point for a tie
Handicap: Based on 75% of your 9 hole handicap. Ex. (10 handicap will have a 9-hole handicap of 5.0 x 75% = 3.75 rounded up to 4).
Playoffs: Single elimination for the top scoring players
Match Time frames: 3 week time frame
Where: Courses to be determined by the two players
Your responsibility: To arrange the match with your competitor and email the results to the Captain
Course Requirement: Must be a regulation course, no executive courses allowed
Players will be placed in one of two brackets. The captains of each bracket will determine the schedule at the beginning of the season. You will be given the name and contact information of your competitors. You will contact each other and set up your first match. You will have three weeks to play the match. The course, date and time must be mutually agreed upon by each player. If a player does not show up for the event then they will forfeit the match. Once the match is played an email with the result of the match will need to be sent to the captain. At the end of the 15 weeks the top players in each bracket will compete in single elimination playoff with the winner of each bracket playing for the Title of 2012 DC Match Play Champion. There is the potential for this event to be flighted depending on how many players join.

Yoga for Golfers focuses on the core strengthening and lengthening needed to support the spine and enhance the mobility of the golf swing. We will work on improving the strength of the legs and increasing the range of motion of the trunk.
