Northeast Bay Chapter Qualifier
Join us for the 2012 Northeast Bay Chapter Championship where EWGA members of all skill levels have the opportunity to compete against other members who share the same playing ability. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or new to the game, the EWGA Championship provides a venue to experience competitive golf among friends and in the spirit of fun.
The Chapter Championship is the first of three stages (followed by the Semi-Finals and then Finals) within the EWGA Championship – the world’s largest golf championship for women amateurs. There are two divisions of competitive play – Stroke Play and Four-women Team Scramble. There are five different Stroke Play flights and one Scramble flight. All play will follow USGA rules.

1 To pay the EWGA Championship Entry Fee to headquarters:
1) Go to EWGA.COM and click on Member Login at the top right of the homepage
2) Login to the Member Portal with your email address and password
3) Select EVENT REGISTRATION in the left panel
4) Select the event 2012 EWGA Championship Entry and follow the prompts

Eligibility: Entries are open to all EWGA Chapter members in good standing who are female amateur golfers*, and have a verifiable USGA Handicap Index. Players with a trend handicap or local index exceeding 40.4 at the time of registration into the Championship Qualifier are only permitted to play in the Scramble division.
Dual/multi chapter members are eligible to participate in the Chapter Championships of each chapter with which they are affiliated. However, they may only advance to the semi-finals from the first Chapter Championship where they win a first place position.
Handicaps: Players must have an established USGA handicap index and have an equivalent of two (2) 18-hole scores posted to their handicap record in the current calendar year prior to the handicap cut-off date of May 31, 2012, for NEB. Players with less than the minimum requirements posted in 2012 will not be eligible to compete.
To establish a USGA handicap index, a player must post the minimum equivalent of five (5) 18-hole scores prior to the next handicap revision date (June 1st). A handicap index from either the NCGA or the EWGA GolfNet21 system is acceptable.
Scramble teams have a “team” handicap and must meet special handicap requirements. Check the “Participant Information Form – Scramble” on the website/registration page for more information.
Flights: All competitors meeting eligibility requirements will be placed in one of the following flights based on their verifiable USGA Handicap Index at the time of handicap verification for the Chapter Championship qualifier (June 1st). The flights are as follows:
Championship Flight 0.0 - 12.0
First Flight 12.1 - 19.0
Second Flight 19.1 - 25.0
Third Flight 25.1 - 32.0
Fourth Flight 32.1 - 40.4
The EWGA mandates two sets of tees for the Championship, a forward tee for First through Fourth flight and a second tee for the Championship flight. Mare Island will be set up as follows for our event:

First Place Low Gross and Low Net stroke play winners in each flight and the Low Net Scramble Team will be eligible to advance to the Northern California Section Semi-Final tournament at Yocha Dehe Golf Course at Cache Creek on Aug 4th where they will compete against other first place winners from other regional EWGA chapters.
