Message from the Scholarship Committee
We received 8 applicants for our 2012 Scholarship Awards. We had 6 schools to respond. We normally grant 2 scholarships but we had 3 great candidates so the board approved all three as eligible to receive the scholarships. Only one of the three has been accepted to their college of choice and it will be the normal requirement that the candidate must be accepted and attending college to accept our scholarship offer. After the announcements at their school presentation we will announce to our membership their names and information about them. They are all three golfers of course, so perhaps at one of our outings they will agree to play golf with us and give us a personal report on themselves at our luncheon. Will keep you updated....

Message from the Tee-off Committee
The annual Tee Off was held at LRYCC on March 10th. Last minute changes placed us in the Pro's Nest rather than the Reflections Room. This room is actually located above the pro shop which overlooks Holes 1 and 18. Perfect setting!! The room was decorated with St. Patrick items and many compliments were passed along. We had 24 attending with 9 guests. Several expressed an interest in membership. Leslie Farrands of the Physcial Health Clinic gave a very interesting presentation on the importance of stretching. Janis Dykes provided the group many laughs as she was the volunteer for the demonstration. The silent auction and Chinese auction raised $348.00 for our scholarship program. Maggie Whitesell won the golf themed basket and has made an additional donation of $40.00 for the scholarship fund. Thank you Maggie.....Peggy Cook, co-chair of the membership committee provided an interesting account of the history of the chapter. A big "Thank You" to the committee members who planned and carried out the theme for the Tee Off; Lou Harrington, Kathy Mannahan, Mary Ann Fink, Jan Shimer and Lola Michael.
