2010 Champions Cup Group Pic

The EWGA Champions Cup is a Team Match Play Competition consisting of 18 holes of Four Ball and 18 holes of singles match play held over 2 stages:  4 Regional Qualifiers and a National Championship.  Chapters are divided into 8 regions, and each chapter must qualify for advancement out of their respective Regional Qualifier, which hosts 2 out of the 8 regions, during the month of September.   Click here to see where your Chapter falls in the Regional breakdown.

Teams with the highest number of points earned by their matches in the Regional Qualifiers  will advance to the National Championship on November 8-11, 2012 at Sycuan Resort in El Cajon, California.

The Team Formation Process

Chapters will form their own teams. Teams will consist of 8 members. Chapters may form teams called Inter-Chapter Teams consisting of members from multiple Chapters. Chapters may field multiple teams. Chapters must form their teams based on one of the following methods set forth by the Champions Cup Committee:

  1. Select from lowest to highest handicap of those whom have expressed their commitment to play (this method is recommended for Inter-Chapters teams); or
  2. Conduct a stroke play qualifier and select a combination of lowest gross score players and/or lowest net score players; or
  3. Conduct a series of Match Play outings with points for wins and ties. Top 8 point earners form the Tea; or
  4. Use a points system for participation in Chapter events - 1 point for league play each week; 2 points for 18-hole event participation, etc.; or
  5. Hold a match play league or ladder and select the 8 players with the most match wins.

Protandim is a 'one a day' all-natural, clinically proven herbal supplement that is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory therapy.  Protandim works with the body's own systems triggering increased production of survival genes and decreasing inflammatory and fibrotic genes.  The result is lower oxidative stress, inflammation, and fibrosis - all of which are linked to hundreds of diseases so decreasing them is a very good thing.   Protandim currently has 4 patents, 10 peer-reviewed and published independent clinicals/studies, and is the subject of over 20 more independent studies.  Protandim also has significant benefits for athletes who have very high levels of free radicals and oxidative stress and love levels of glutathione - all of which Protandim counters.

Let Your Voice Be Heard

The Symposium On Affordable Golf is held annually in Southern Pines, North Carolina and is sponsored by Richard Mandell Golf Architecture.  Richard Mandell, the principal in the firm, feels that one of golf’s biggest problems is that it costs too much for golfers to play.  Said another way, many of golf’s other problems may be less impactful in a $40 round of golf as compared to a $125 round of golf.

The mission of the Symposium On Affordable Golf is to raise awareness and understanding of the challenges of the golf industry through open discussion, exchange of ideas and the highlighting of successes that promote the health and sustainability of the game of golf.  In planning for this year’s Symposium, a survey is being conducted in an effort to gather information about the golf experience that the golfer – you - really wants to have.

Thus far, the survey has shown good results. However, they primarily represent the opinions of low handicap, male golfers.  This is an opportunity for women golfers to be heard.

Please go to the survey website  at: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22EG9LPVMXR and provide your input.  The results of the survey will be presented and discussed at the Symposium On Affordable Golf on October 29 and 30, 2012.  There is no cost to attend the symposium.  You can learn more about the Symposium at www.symposiumonaffordablegolf.com.
