Silverman Sinks Single!

Shouts of glee rang over the course at the Grove Park Inn on June 16, as Lorraine Silverman of the EWGA Asheville Chapter realized that she had made a hole-in-one on the notoriously difficult Hole #2. Although it is a 112-yard Par 3 hole, success on this classic Donald Ross-designed challenge requires clearing the steep, thickly vegetated banks of a meandering stream to reach the undulating green. Lorraine used a five iron for her achievement. Congratulations!

EWGA Asheville Team Comes Home Winners

On May 15th, six EWGA women participated in the Bright’s Creek (NC) Women’s Invitational.  It was a fun course to play and the staff could not have been more accommodating.  Congratulations to the EWGA Asheville team of Joyce Adams, Shelagh Byrne, Carol Anne Howell, Anne Snyder and Blake Kennedy, who came in first with a net score of 50.3!  Each team had a Golf Pro play with their scramble team.  Our Pro, Blake had a drive that we all could envy!  Close behind, in second place with a net score of 52.1, was a team with two of the EWGA Greenville Chapter members, Rhonda Rusch and Mary Kay Lane.  Way to go Ladies!
