For those that are new, this is the first in a series of three tournaments that enable winners to move on to the next event. There are two types of competition, stroke or scramble play. We will be using the USGA handicaps from May 15.

You must have a USGA handicap index to participate (remember, this is NOT the handicap used for league play). The equivalent of two 18-hole scores must be posted to your LPGAWWP/GN21 (or GHIN) handicap record in the current year prior to the cut-off date of May 15, 2018.  If you do not have a handicap index established from 2017, you will need to post a minimum of the equivalent of five (5) 18-hole scores prior to the cut-off date.

The fee will be $94, which will include golf, cart and prizes if you win low net or low gross or the 1st & 2nd place scramble team.

ALL REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT IS DONE ONLINE ON THE LPGAWWP WEBSITE!
Please go to your member clubhouse @ http://lpgawomenwhoplay.com/ for all the information you need.

If you win low gross and low net or 1st & 2nd place scramble team, you can advance to the Sectional tournament on July 14th in Indiana.
All the requirements and rules are on the LPGAWWP website under Chapter Championship events, so please review these before signing up.

Five tee times have been reserved. If we don't need them for the tournament, they would be available for anyone who would want a fun day of golf, I will let you know if they become available.

If you have any questions, please email me at ddiana@sssnet.com or call 330-833-7511

HISTORIC Clearview Golf Club

Clearview Golf Course's layout with gently rolling terrain and undulating greens serves as a challenge to experienced golfers, yet also provides an enjoyable round for those players new to the game.

Course architect and owner William "Bill" Powell began construction of Clearview Golf Course in 1946. The first nine holes were opened for business two years later. The second nine was added in 1978.

With the help of his wife, Marcella who passed away in June of 1996, and their children Renee and Larry, Clearview has gained notoriety for being the first and thus far, only golf course designed, built, owned and operated by an African-American.

You can help to preserve “America’s Course" and the Legacy of this National Historic Site. A Tribute to Mr. Powell, who passed away December 31, 2009.

Renee Powell learned the game of golf from her father and went on to the LPGA Tour. She is a member of the LPGA and PGA and was recently one of the first women inducted as an honorary member of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. Clearview's Head Golf Professional, she is known as one of America's top teachers.

Larry Powell is Clearview's Course Superintendent. His work has been recognized by NASA and the Golf Course Superintendents.

Baby it's cold outside!

Throughout the winter when it's just too cold to golf, we hold monthly Euchre nights.  Be sure to watch your email for the announcements and join us so you don't lose track of your golfin' buddies.  We do a lot of talking about 'waiting for spring'.
