BOARD HIGHLIGHTS -National Update

Dear Members,

As you know, the EWGA moved under the LPGA umbrella earlier this year and was rebranded as LPGA Women Who Play, a program of the LPGA Foundation.

Not long after the merger was announced, it became clear that many members were supportive of joining the LPGA family, but many were not in favor of the re-branded name.  Some felt as though LPGA Women Who Play mistakenly implied that you were LPGA professionals, and some felt as though the word “Play” diminished the fact that you were serious, passionate women golfers.

As promised, we have listened and learned from your comments, suggestions and survey responses.  We have spent the last few weeks applying what we learned and are notifying you that, as of today, LPGA Women Who Play will now be known as the LPGA Amateur Golf Association.

Learn more by visiting LPGAAmateurs.com or follow @LPGAAmateurs on social media

We continue to be excited about the future and look forward to getting back to work on your behalf. Onward and upward as the LPGA Amateur Golf Association!

Best of luck on the links this summer,

Jane Geddes
Executive Director
LPGA Amateur Golf Association

BOARD HIGHLIGHTS - Central Indiana Chapter Updates

As we move forward as part of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association, our golf season is well underway!  We are women who play golf at all levels in the amateur spectrum.  Please join in the fun at any of the evening league courses by responding to the weekly emails and at our weekend events by registering online.   There is no prepayment for your golf rounds - you pay the course when you show up!  You may bring guests to any of the evening or weekend golf rounds to try us out.   Each guest may attend up to two rounds before joining the national organization and our local league.  This is a great way to recruit your friends to be part of the organization.  Remember to check the website at any time for the latest calendar of activities and events http://www.LPGAAmateursCentralin.com.  There are exciting events coming up and more ideas actively being scheduled - hope to see you on the course or at the social events!

While we are still early in our season, please mark your calendars for the banquet on October 24.   This is one of our best social events with lots of prizes and a fun evening for all!   Did you know:  Every time you attend a league night, event, social outing, volunteer opportunity (including LPGA marshal), etc. you earn participation points.  Any time you "win" a fun game at league or outing you get points (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) leading to the end of season awards.

Beginning/High handicap golfers:   We are adding a few evening outings in our "off league" nights to have fun rounds at less intimidating  courses or range time & social evenings.  Please consider joining us per the events schedule and highlighted in the league emails as they are scheduled.    Your participation is vital to continuing to build our fun, flexible organization!
