Heron Lakes

Just minutes north of downtown Portland off Interstate 5, Heron Lakes Golf Club features two 18-hole championship courses that offer distinctive challenges.

Both designed by Robert Trent Jones II, the Great Blue Course has more of a "links" feel with mounded, narrow fairways and small greens, while the Greenback Course has a more flexible layout that features large, elevated greens. Greenback opened in 1971 and Great Blue, named for the blue herons drawn to its nine water features, was added in 1992.

EWGA Portland plays the front and back of each during the course of the summer. Then the players head to the Jantzen Beach Stanford's for after-golf dinner, drinks and lively discussion.
