Publicize Your Business or Organization

Want to get more out of your EWGA membership? How about becoming a sponsor?

There's no better way to reach over 300 professional women and fellow golfers in the Rochester area. Annual sponsorships of our chapter start at only $50; higher levels provide more benefits.

And, as a 2012 EWGA member, you can get a $25 discount off a Birdie or Eagle sponsorship! All sponsorships include visibility on our website and at local events. The annual sponsorships run from February to February so sign up now to maximize your exposure!

For more information about sponsorship benefits and to reserve your space, contact our Sponsorship Chair Cheryl Nelan at sponsorship@ewgarochesterny.com.

Renew Your Membership!

Beginning this year, participants in golf leagues and events must be members of EWGA, so be sure to renew your membership promptly! You don't want to miss out on all the fun we have planned.

EWGA membership runs on an annual basis but you can renew early and not change your membership date. You'll get a letter from National when it's time to renew your membership but you can go online and do it there too!

(Guests are allowed at some events - up to a maximum of 3 times per year - but are encouraged to join to get all the benefits of membership!)

Do You Like to Write?

The Communications committee is looking for a PR volunteer to make sure that the community is aware of who we are and what we do. This involves writing and sending the occasional press release (content and contact info will be provided), and making sure that our name and activities are publicized in any other way possible.

If you're interested (this would look good on your resume!), please contact Communications Chair Bonnie Wallace at communications@ewgarochesterny.com.

And thanks in advance for helping us reach out!

Care Packages Greatly Appreciated

A long thank-you note from a medic in an aviation unit in Kuwait expressed great appreciation for the care packages sent by EWGA Rochester. (Thank you again Shari Morley for collecting, packaging and mailing the boxes!) They particularly enjoyed the golf balls. Can't you just imagine the practice they got in sand traps??

As he said in his letter to Shari, "Thank you and your ladies so much. I know things are sent and often no one writes back to say it was appreciated. I don't want to be that guy."

What a guy! And what a great bunch of EWGA members!

Thumbs Up!

Our chapter received a well-deserved "Thumbs Up" from the Democrat and Chronicle for collecting care package items for our overseas troops.

Many thanks to Shari Morley for coordinating the collection and shipping process. Congratulations and thanks to all who participated.

Introducing the 2012 EWGA Rochester Region Board Members

Thank You to Outgoing Board Members and Welcome to New Ones!

You may not have realized it, but the EWGA Rochester Region chapter is run entirely by volunteers, women like you who love to play golf and want to make sure that other local women have as many opportunities to learn and play golf as possible.

All the good things that happen in our chapter would absolutely not happen without their dedication and hard work.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all board members who served during 2011, especially to Kirsten Mortenson, who will not be continuing on the board during 2012 and who single-handedly created our current sponsorship program. Not only do the sponsors get great visibility (thank you for doing business with them!) but their support makes our events much more affordable for everyone.

And there's a place for you! Many committees are looking for members, so read the descriptions below and contact the chair to help out.

Congratulations to Match Play Tourney Competitors

EWGA Rochester Chapter sent six of our players - Michelle Lazarevski, Wendy Bolton, Anne Huot, Luanna Andrews, Karen Lejman, and Debbie Harper - to the inaugural EWGA Champions Cup Match Play tournament in September. The event was held over two days at the Black Bear course at Crystal Springs NJ. Our Rochester players were combined with players from Ohio and Pennsylvania to field a full team of 12. The course was beautiful, but conditions were challenging - very wet and mucky, like golf in Rochester last March! Despite their best efforts, the team fell short but didn't go down without a fight!

Congratulations ladies, and thank you for representing Rochester so well at this event!

Rochester Chapter 2011 Chapter Championship

Our Rochester Region, NY Chapter EWGA Chapter Championship was held on Saturday, July 23 at Ravenwood Golf Club. Although it was hot, the course was in great condition. We played out hearts out, then relaxed on the patio with cold beverages and a Mexican themed buffet. Thirteen of our players will move on to the Semi-Finals on August 20th at Turning Stone Resort, Shenandoah Course. Those who finished First Place Low Gross and First Place Low Net from each flight plus the winning Scramble Team qualified to advance.
