Rules of Golf

Several of us met at Far Oaks on Sunday to review the "Rules of Golf" by MIchael Rodney followed by playing 18 holes of golf. I've attached a link to the notes Michael Rodney shared with us, if you would like to review them. It seemed inevitable that I would have the opportunity to experience most of these during our play yesterday. Thanks Michael.

The 2012 Membership Campaign (again generously sponsored by Nike Golf) began January 1, 2012 and runs through December 31, 2012 and there are several levels for earning prizes

St. Charles Golf Expo (Thursday January 19 - Sunday January 22) Volunteers Needed

We have a unique opportunity for free advertisement at this event provided our members help work the event. If you participate, your Chapter will be allowed to place literature in the goodie bags that will be handed out at the door. There are personal benefits to volunteering for this event, too. Results from EWGA Eastern Midwest Semi-Finals

Five members from of our St. Louis Chapter placed in the EWGA Eastern Midwest Semi-Finals at Cattails Golf Course in Kingsport, TN on August 13.

Nannette Baker (1st flight) –1st low net – St. Louis

Becky Pecher (2nd flight) – 3rd low net – Ferguson (63135)

Pat Means (3rd flight) – 2nd low gross – Maryland Heights

Faye Siegel (4th flight) – 1st low net – Creve Coeur

Nancy Rodney (4th flight) 2nd low gross – St. Louis (63126)

Congratulations to Faye and Nannette who will advance to the EWGA National Championship Finals in at the JW Marriott Desert Springs (4th flight) & Desert Willow Golf Club in Palm Desert, CA (1st flight) on October 21 and 22, 2011!

Two Chapter Members Advance To Nationals!

Congratulations to Nannette Baker and Faye Siegel who advanced to EWGA Nationals in their respective flights at the Eastern Midwest District Semi-Final Championship held at the Cattails Golf Course in Kingsport TN on Saturday August 13.

New Registration Process

For the remainder of 2011, you will need to contact the play date host to register for golf play dates. We have abandoned Survey Monkey as our registration process and will be looking in 2012 for a user friendly, new registration process to serve our members.

Learn About Open Board and Committe Chair Positions

In addition to the four board officers, we have eight committee chair positions. All committee chairs and vice chairs are appointed by the Board. If you are interested in learning more about these Board positions, please plan to join us at Copperfield's Restaurant at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 (located on Lackland near Westport. Please RSVP to Pat Means at pmeans1224@aol.com so we make a reservation for the appropriate number of individuals.

2011-12 Board Election - Seeking Nominations

It is time to submit nominations for our St. Louis EWGA board officer positions for the 2011-2012 season. There are four elected positions on our Board. The positions of President and Vice President are a one-year term with the option for a second term. Secretary and Treasurer positions are a two-year term, elected in alternate years. This year is unique in that we will elect both a Secretary (this year only a 1 year term) and Treasurer (two year term) so that we get on the same cycle as the rest of the EWGA organization. Yes, it is okay to nominate yourself. Please submit your nominations to our Leadership Chair Pat Means (pmeans1224@aol.com) by noon on Monday, August 22, 2011
